My week with Saeeda

I’m in Abu Dhabi, and I’m having the time of my life. To be absolutely candid, I’m not doing anything different than what I usually do in Al Ain, but for some reason, having someone else to do it with is GREAT. We watch TV all night, pray, sleep all day, wake up, and start watching TV. Doing the same thing in Al Ain, I would be BORED TO TEARS. For some reason, hanging out with Saeeda is incredible. She is sooooooo easy-going, honest, non-judgmental, and above all: hilarious. I’ve always wanted a sister, and she’s a perfect candidate. My brother is uproarious, and his jokes are literally side-splitting, but you can only stomach those for a few hours. We were having dinner with him (Saeeda, Maha and I) and we could not even CHEW OUR FOOD for how much we were laughing. We were laughing so much we were choking, and he WOULD NOT STOP. That boy has a talent. And he’s crazy. That combination can factually be LETHAL. When I’m at home in Al Ain, after a while the house gets dull and I think, oh I miss Ali, can’t wait till he comes home (he lives in AD and comes home only on weekends). Finally he comes home and I am soooo glad, and he is the funniest guy on earth. He is an expert at sarcasm: I spent the whole day trying to get ONE straightforward answer from him… and failed miserably. Every statement, remark, WORD that came out of his mouth was a sarcastic reply. By every Friday, after two days with him, I am dying for him to go back to AD because KHALAAAAAAAAAAS I can’t handle it. Too much.
Saeeda on the other hand is soooooo peaceful and composed that -every once in a while- I get to be in the spotlight (in case you haven’t realized by now, when Ali’s at home he HAS to be the centre of attention). I like it here.
